The short version
This policy describes SignBack, published by Silvergrove Labs LLC ("SignBack," "we," "us," or "our"). The SignBack app does not collect personal data from your device for us. It does not contain advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking technology, and it does not upload your documents to a SignBack server.
We do not receive, sell, rent, or use your documents, signatures, signing identities, templates, form entries, contacts, location, device identifiers, or in-app activity for advertising or profiling.
Information kept on your device
SignBack processes document content locally on your iPhone or iPad. Local functions include PDF display and editing, scans, optical character recognition, Fast Fill suggestions, file conversion, signatures, initials, identities, templates, and supported document summaries that use on-device system intelligence.
Working documents, signatures, identities, templates, settings, and local workflow information are stored in SignBack's private app container. They remain under your control on the device and are not accessible to us. If you enable Sync Across Devices, selected non-document app data may also sync through your private iCloud account as described below. If iCloud Backup or another device backup is enabled, Apple or your backup provider may include SignBack app data in device backups and may restore that data to another device, according to your device settings and the provider's terms. SignBack does not receive those backups.
Sync Across Devices
Sync Across Devices is optional and off by default. If you turn it on, SignBack can sync only the categories you choose through your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service. SignBack does not create an account for you, operate a document server, or receive a readable copy of your synced content.
The sync categories are signature wallet, signing identities, templates you create, profile name, and folder structure. These categories may include saved signatures or initials, identity names and contact details, reusable field layouts, your display name, and folder names. Synced payloads are stored in CloudKit encrypted fields before they are written to iCloud.
Documents, signed PDFs, SignBack Packet files, files in the Documents directory, app lock settings, wallet lock settings, auto-export settings, and local stats do not sync through Sync Across Devices. Each device keeps its own documents and signed PDFs unless you separately choose to export, save, share, back up, or download files using Apple services or another destination.
You can turn off individual sync categories or all sync at any time. When turning sync off, you can keep the existing iCloud copy for your other devices or ask SignBack to remove the synced records from iCloud. Local data on your device is kept.
Apple services and on-device diagnostics
If you enable automatic export and iCloud Drive is available, SignBack writes a copy to the SignBack folder in iCloud Drive. If you enable Sync Across Devices, selected non-document app data syncs through your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service. Apple stores and processes iCloud Drive and CloudKit data under your Apple account, settings, and Apple's privacy terms. SignBack does not operate its own cloud storage, document server, or account-based sync service.
SignBack uses MetricKit, an Apple framework, to create an App Health report that is displayed and stored on your device. SignBack does not transmit that MetricKit report to us. Apple may separately process App Store, device, backup, crash, performance, or diagnostic information according to your Apple settings and Apple's policies. SignBack does not include a third-party analytics or tracking SDK.
On supported devices, document summaries use the on-device SystemLanguageModel provided through Apple's Foundation Models framework, the model technology behind Apple Intelligence. The document text and generated result stay on your device and are not sent to us. Availability depends on the device, system software, language, model availability, and Apple Intelligence settings.
Permissions and your choices
Depending on the feature you choose, SignBack may request camera or Photos access and may use Files, Face ID or device authentication, iCloud, and Siri Shortcuts. You can review or revoke applicable permissions in iOS or iPadOS Settings. Some features will stop working when their permission is disabled.
Face ID and device authentication are handled by Apple's Local Authentication framework. SignBack receives an authentication result, not your face image or biometric data.
Information you send to support
Emailing support is optional. A support message may include your email address, app and system version, device model, issue description, screenshots, diagnostics, or files you intentionally attach. We use that information to respond, troubleshoot, keep a record of the request, protect the service, and improve SignBack.
Support providers used to deliver email or related business services may process that information for us and must handle it under contractual and legal protections. We do not use support information for advertising or sell it. Please do not attach confidential documents or signatures unless necessary and intentionally shared.
Retention, deletion, and security
Local SignBack content remains until you delete it or remove the app, subject to sync, device backup, and restoration behavior. You can delete documents, signatures, identities, templates, and other saved items in SignBack. Files previously sent to Files, iCloud Drive, Mail, Messages, or another destination must be deleted there separately. If you used Sync Across Devices, turn off sync and choose the option to remove the iCloud copy if you want SignBack to delete the synced CloudKit records it created for the selected categories.
We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to handle the request, maintain support records, improve the product, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes, and in any case for no longer than 24 months after a request is resolved, unless a longer period is required to comply with law, resolve a dispute, or enforce our agreements. You may ask us to delete support information by emailing us; we will honor the request where required and may retain limited records when law or legitimate security and recordkeeping needs permit.
If we receive a valid legal request for support correspondence we hold, such as a subpoena, court order, or other lawful process, we may be required to disclose it. Where legally permitted, we will attempt to notify the person who submitted the request before doing so.
SignBack uses iOS and iPadOS app isolation and optional device authentication to help protect local content. No storage or transmission method is guaranteed to be completely secure, so protect your device, backups, exported files, and recipients.
Children and international users
SignBack is a general-purpose productivity app and is not directed to children. Because the app does not collect personal data for us, it does not knowingly collect children's personal data through app use. Contact us if you believe a child sent personal information to support.
Support information may be processed where our email and service providers operate. Where applicable, those providers use legal safeguards for international transfers.
California and other regional privacy rights
Using SignBack does not create an account or authentication profile. The app does not send Silvergrove Labs LLC your documents, signatures, identities, saved details, synced CloudKit payloads, usage history, or other local app content, and we do not store that content on SignBack servers. We therefore generally hold no personal information about you from your use of the app and have no app content to access, sell, share, disclose, correct, or delete.
The only personal information we may receive directly from you is information you voluntarily include in an email to support. We do not sell or share that support correspondence or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you are a California resident, or a resident of another U.S. state with comparable privacy rights, you may ask whether we hold support correspondence associated with your email address and request its correction or deletion where applicable. Submit a request to support@signback.io. We may need to verify your identity using the email address and details associated with your support request before responding.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when SignBack or legal requirements change. We will revise the effective date and provide any notice required by law. App Store privacy disclosures will also be updated when our data practices change.
Contact and privacy requests
Ask a privacy question, request deletion of information you sent to support, or raise a concern at support@signback.io. Because SignBack has no account and we do not receive local app content or synced CloudKit payloads, we cannot access or delete files stored only on your device, in your private iCloud account, or in a destination you selected.
